i have never done this before, so i hope it is working!!
this morning as i was reading, i was struck by two things:

Acts 11:15…”the Holy Spirit came on them as he had coe oin us at the beginning.” this was manifested by speaking of tongues (Acts 10:46)

Q-do people know I have the Holy Spirit? what evidence do they have?

years ago, i really wrestled with this question and God showed me two specific passages in Scripture. the first is Acts 5:32, where it says God has given the Holy Spirit to those who obey Him. initially, i was hesitant because i certainly haven’t obeyed Him perfectly. a spiritual counselor helped me understand my heart is in full obedience having come to Him in faith and trusting in Him. also, Gal. 5:22, 23 tell me to look for the fruit in my Christian walk to find out whether others see the Holy Spirit in me. Do i love? Am i joyful? Am i at peace? Do i have patience? Again, not perfectly, but to the extent i have these character qualities, they are certainly of the Holy Spirit and not from my self.

the other thing in today’s reading that impacted me strongly was just a few verses later. verse 18 shows us that the circumcised believers in Jerusalem Peter was addressing believed what he said because of his word and witness, though certainly the gospel being for the Gentiles was a difficult concept for them to accept.

do i have such a life of integrity and being truthful with my word and witness that others can see God at work?

    humbly prayerful,

    les
